Reinhard Cate Media

This is a brief show case of Reinhard Cate's work as a director, videographer and editor. It includes interview and documentary techniques as well as time lapse videography and photography.

On top of documentary videography I also do promotional and business videography and editing. This has included weddings, videos for businesses like Brooklyn Boulders rock climbing gym in New York City as well as large organizations such as the University of San Francisco.

This is an investigative video project I directed, edited and filmed aired by the New York Daily News. A team of New York University graduate students including myself, lead an investigation into conditions of several housing projects in Manhattan's East Village. 

In the summer of 2010 I lived and worked in the city of Nablus in the West Bank. I taught a journalism course to students from An-Najah University and filmed a documentary on the conflict over land in the West Bank which is a major flashpoint in the on going Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The two videos include the trailer to my documentary "A Divided House" as well as the 43 minute working cut.

This gallery was taken in the Northern Afghanistan Province of Takhar. I took these photos in 2012.

This gallery of photos was shot between 2011 and 2012 in Afghanistan. The photos were taken in Kandahar, Takhar, Ghazni and Balkh Provinces. 

This galley is a showcase of outdoor and and action sports photography. It includes scenic Alpine backdrops, mountaineering, rock climbing and mixed martial arts.

This gallery is a showcase of portrait, headshot and promotional photography. I've worked with individual clients such as families, actors, journalists and bands as well as major organizations such as the U.S. Tennis Association.

I absolutely love Time Lapse photography and while I'm no Phillip Bloom I've taken the time to include the technique using both video and photo in a lot of my work. The videos here are some of my favorite that I've shot in the last few years.
